How to play Prism, the picture logic puzzle (nonogram)
Prism is a picture logic puzzle, also called a nonogram, griddler or paint by numbers. Numbers beside each row and column tell you which squares to fill. Fill the right ones and a hidden stained-glass picture appears.
Step by step
- Each number is a group of filled squares in a row, in the same order as the numbers.
- Between two groups there is always at least one empty square. A 0 means the whole line is empty.
- Tap Fill and tap a square to fill it with glass. Drag along a row to fill several at once.
- Use Cross to mark squares you know are empty.
- When every row and column matches its numbers, the picture is finished.
Tips
- Start with big numbers. In a row of 10, a clue of 8 must cover the middle six squares.
- Rows with a 0, or clues that fill the whole line, are free answers. Do them first.
- A clue turns mint when its line is right, so you can see what is done.
- You never have to guess. Every picture can be solved with logic alone.
- A hint fills a square for you, or shows you a mark that is wrong.

What is a nonogram?
A nonogram is a puzzle where number clues tell you which squares to fill in a grid. When you finish, the filled squares make a picture.
How do I get three stars?
Finish a picture without any hints for three stars. Up to two hints gives two stars, and finishing always gives one.
Are there lives or a timer?
No. There are no lives and no time limit, so you can take it slowly.
