How to play Spider solitaire
Spider is solitaire played with two decks and ten columns. Build runs from King down to Ace in a single suit. A finished run leaves the board, and when eight runs are gone, you win.
Step by step
- Any card can go on a card one higher, whatever its suit. A five goes on any six.
- Only a run in one suit moves together as a group.
- When you finish a run from King down to Ace in one suit, it leaves the board.
- Out of moves? Deal from the stock. It puts one card on every column, so no column can be empty when you deal.
- Clear all eight runs to win.
Tips
- Start with one suit. Two and four suits are the same game, only harder.
- Build in one suit whenever you can. Mixed runs are harder to move later.
- An empty column is very useful. Use it to sort cards, not just to park one.
