How to play FreeCell solitaire
FreeCell is a solitaire game where every card is face up from the start, so you can plan every move. There are eight columns, four free cells and four foundations.
Step by step
- Stack cards down the columns in alternating colours. A red six goes on a black seven.
- Each of the four cells holds one card while you make room.
- The more cells and columns are empty, the more cards you can move at once.
- Drag a card to where it should go, or tap it and the game moves it for you.
- Build the four foundations from Ace up to King, one suit each. Fill them all and you win.
Tips
- The cells are precious. Try to keep at least one empty.
- Free the Aces and Twos early. They are the cards the foundations need first.
- An empty column is the most useful space on the board.
- Stuck? Ask for a hint, or press Undo and try another way.
